      Responsibilities:

      • Supervises, reviews, and audits all payroll related changes to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and benefits, and compliance with Federal and State Wage and Hour Laws for approximately 650 employees
      • Monitors and analyzes budget to actual variances for all payroll related accounts
      • Manages, develops, and trains Payroll Coordinator
      • Communicates with employees to resolve problems and to ensure internal client satisfaction in a timely manner
      • Collaborates closely with HR to share necessary information in a timely manner
      • Manages payroll tax related matters including quarterly and year-end reconciliations
      • Manages the year-end payroll process including making accurate salary and tax adjustments, and verifying accuracy of W2s
      • Manages the projected salary and benefits budget, working directly with the business analyst and CFO to provide estimated costs for monitoring operations
      • Ensures appropriate deductions for 403(b) plan, prepares transmittal of withholdings to the custodians, and supports the 403(b) plan audit
      • Manages the payroll and timekeeping portion of human resources/payroll system
      • Prepares journal entries to record payroll related transactions into the general ledger
      • Other duties as assigned

      Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

      • Excellent knowledge of payroll management in an automated processing environment including electronic time data collection; previous experience with UKG payroll and timekeeping is required
      • Proven knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations and reporting requirements relating to salaries, wages, overtime, bonuses, etc.
      • Strong analytical skills
      • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounting systems
      • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
      • Prior supervisory experience
      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of employees

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred but will consider a combination of directly related coursework AND directly related work experience in lieu of an accounting degree;
      • Minimum 10 years of payroll or payroll systems experience required
      • Minimum 5 years of payroll management experience required
      • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
