Job Description

- Learn the business! Understand our mission, our operating model inclusive of our org structure. Meet with hiring managers to learn their history with the Payroll function.
- Manages and reconciles payroll and related exports and journal entries to the General Ledger
- Manages and maintains Payroll and GL Accrual Interfaces for salary and vacation
- Prepares, reconciles and remits all tax forms and related magnetic media
- Ensures and coordinates all payroll reporting and regulatory functions and develops customized reports as it relates to payroll
- Participates in planning and administering the budget
- Assists with various financial audits
- Identified process improvements or technologies that can enhance the payroll process
- Supervises the payroll staff and activities in conjunction with the organization’s managerial/leadership practices
- Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 5 + years of experience in payroll; prior management experience preferred
- Experience in preparing and filing payroll taxes
- Experience with systems like UltiPro or ADP Workforce preferred. Having experience with implementing a new system or optimizing an existing payroll system highly desirable
- Supervisory experience, including coaching and development of staff
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Advanced computer and report writing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to supervise others
