      Description

      The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the electric and gas utilities payroll processes by working closely with the Payroll Coordinator and Controller. The Payroll Manager will also complete payroll tax registrations, review tax notifications, work with various union agreements, and file union reports. As the company continues to grow, the Payroll Manager will need to continue to review and assess the payroll processes for future growth.

      Essential Functions

      • Provide leadership and direction to the Payroll Team
      • Ensure accurate and timely entry of weekly union payroll
      • Review union contracts to ensure employees are set up properly within the system
      • File monthly union reports for multiple unions in various states
      • Maintain state registration compliance and work with our payroll provider to ensure tax returns are filed accurately and timely
      • Work with operations for any certified payroll reporting requirements
      • Keep a continuous improvement mindset and optimize the process to scale with the company
      • Respond to all internal and external requests in a timely manner
      • Provides exceptional and accurate internal and external customer service
      • Create, review, update and maintain payroll processing systems and modules
      • Other projects or tasks as needed

      Required Education and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree
      • One year of related experience
