What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Calculate deductions, overtime, vacation, and workers' compensation, ensuring compliance with applicable contracts and company pay policies
- Maintain payroll records, process involuntary deductions, and prepare special reports for leadership
- Audit pay records and reconcile tax and unemployment liability accounts to the general ledger
- Maintain payroll systems and assist with preparation of quarterly payroll tax reporting
- Verify compliance with federal and state payroll requirements
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Previous experience in payroll processing and compliance
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and payroll software
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with payroll audits and tax filing
- Familiarity with workers' compensation processes
- Previous experience in a pet-related industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
