      Job Description
      PDG Grant Specialist
      (Health Program Specialist III)

      Are you experienced in monitoring and tracking grants and looking for PART-TIME work? The Department of Health and Human Services is looking for a detail-oriented individual to fill their role of PDG Grant Specialist.
      Job Responsibilities:
      • Check receipts and invoices for allowable expenses
      • Meet with contractors and grantees to clarify billing issues and review reports
      • Draft reports for supervisor review
      • Maintain and create orderly files and record-keeping systems
      • Monitor and track documentation to ensure timelines are met
      • Effectively identify and communicate critical issues to the Early Childhood Utah program manager and team
      • Support the Early Childhood Utah Program


      Minimum/Required Qualifications:
      • Basic understanding of math in the context of reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance
      • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat with a willingness to learn other project management related software as needed
      • Can communicate concepts and corrections to contractors or clients with clarity and professionalism


      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience working with federal grants (at any point in the grant cycle)
      • Experience with contract monitoring
      • Familiarity with financial audit processes
      • Experience working for a federal or state governmental agency
      • Experience conducting research
      • Experience with graphic design, web development, or social media in a business context
      • Bilingual in Spanish and English


      Work Schedule:
      • This position is part-time and will be scheduled approximately 20 hours per week.
      • Flexible hours; primarily between 8:00AM - 5:00PM MT; the specific hours are negotiable but will need to be consistent.
      • In-office days will be Monday or Tuesday
      • This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
