What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, including modalities and manual techniques
- Instruct and guide patients through functional activities such as bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities
- Observe and report changes in patient responses to nurses and physical therapists
- Document interventions and services provided in patient charts in a timely manner
- Educate and train patients and caregivers, adjusting methods to suit learning preferences
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid Driver's License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Two years of technical experience in therapy in an acute care environment or outpatient setting
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting
- Prior mentoring or training experience
