What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze and resolve professional coding complaints in collaboration with Customer Service to ensure patient satisfaction
- Identify and analyze coding denials, coordinating data collection for reporting and improvement
- Research and document regulatory coding and billing rules, developing standardized processes for the coding team
- Provide regular statistical reports on rejection/denial volumes and trends to leadership
- Conduct retrospective chart and claim coding reviews, recommending corrections based on coding guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of professional coding experience and at least 3 years of payer background experience
- Advanced training in Medical Coding Specialist from an accredited or approved program
- Certification in coding, such as CCA, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or SCP
- Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic coding systems
