      Gibela Rail invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of a PME Manager. The successful candidate will be based in Dunnottar – Nigel. The position reports to the Head of PME

      Purpose of the Job

      • Manage the team of Process Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers or Technicians.
      • To manage the development of the industrial ac ti vi ti es/deliverables either internal (localisa ti on, extension, deployment) or external (suppliers) and to promote industrial standards and lean manufacturing.
      • Support industrialization of new products in collaboration with the project team.
      • Organize and bring technical support to manufacturing

      Key responsibili ti es include the following:

      • Lead the industrialisa ti on of the equipment technical specifica ti on and respec ti ng the Standard Manufacturing Process & Standard Manufacturing Line guidelines, taking out all the constraints in manufacturing.
      • Create the industrial deliverables: Macro-process, Work Instruc ti ons, Bill of Material, Task Sequence and/or Standard Opera ti ons Sheet, Work Instruc ti ons, Method ti mes, defini ti ve Layouts Respec ti ng the Industrial Planning milestones by ensure that the produc ti on line is ready
      • Implemen ti ng the Process FMEA and ensuring integra ti on with the Quality Control Plan
      • Implement the Project Make or Buy strategy in all deliverables
      • Prepare Industrial ERP data, including the Bill of Material, the Process rou ti ngs, the Configura ti on Management data etc.
      • Manage CAPEX (QCDS) projects from conceptual to implementation phase
      • Manage tooling and jigs contractors
      • Ensure that EHS risk managements are done on the process layout and equipment to be used in produc ti ons line
      • Analyse complex issues and significantly improve change or adapt exis ti ng method and technics.
      • Support the produc ti on in a daily basis with short term ac ti ons.
      • Par ti cipate in the op ti miza ti on of the product / process and ti me spent
      • Taking into account return of experience, EHS & Lean Manufacturing standards in all ac ti vi ti es
      • Par ti cipa ti ng to the valida ti on of first produc ti ons un ti l Serial GO
      • Lead or par ti cipate to Con ti nuous improvement ac ti vity
      • Ensure line balancing & method ti me targets of the produc ti on are achieved in line with Industrial requirements
      • Prepare Business cases where necessary to adjust for capital expenditure, for con ti nuous improvements, Redesign to Cost, Make or Buy proposals

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Degree/BTech in Mechanical /Electrical/ Industrial Engineering
      • Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering background with 5 to 10 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry.
      • Technical experience of Process Engineering, writing manufacturing work instructions, line balancing, Lean Manufacturing.
      • Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration follow-up
      • Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics.

      • Must display strong business acumen, par ti cularly to cost consciousness and efficiency improvements
      • Must have conceptual thinking skills and analy ti cal skills
