  Portfolio and Pricing Manager
  London

  As a Barclays Portfolio and Pricing manager, you will be part of a team that manages the key commercial deal approval for all transactions in ICB and CUK, as well as the capital consumption. For this role, you will work with lending originators to optimise return on risk-weighted assets and margins/fees on lending, and help the Senior Portfolio Managers drive the Portfolio Management and Pricing strategy into industry sectors and regions across the UK and Internationally.

  We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

  What will you be doing?
  • Reviewing pricing submissions through the Global Pricing Tool and liaising with Coverage teams to agree a pricing/product structure that deliver acceptable returns
  • Being the first line of defence in maintaining pricing and capital discipline as well as educating Coverage teams on returns and pricing expectations
  • Working together with Senior Portfolio Manager to manage the workflow of deal approvals in their focus sector
  • Displaying a deep understanding of return on risk weighted assets calculation methodology, regulatory permissions and modelling
  • Overseeing or conducting both ad-hoc analytics on the portfolio, including analysis of exposures and returns, behavioural analysis, projections, capital cost allocations
  • Dealing with the ownership and management of the Lending Commitments Committee (LCC) process involving direct liaison with ICB senior management
  • Collaborating with the Analytics team to ensure PM has a view on business performance
  • Conducting extensive data analysis of portfolio deal metrics for the assessment of decision criteria to increase system’s operational efficiency in pricing

  
  What we’re looking for:
  • Quantitative skills for portfolio analyses and portfolio optimisation
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of regulatory capital and Basel III rules regarding banking capital is required
  • Understanding of Advanced & Standardised risk-weighted assets rules required
  • Familiarity with and understanding of credit risk is required

  Skills that will help you in the role:
  • CFA part or fully qualified
  • Experience in corporate banking and lending products
  • A solid analytical background & willingness to work on large/complex datasets
  • Ability to act independently and prioritise judiciously to maximise impact and see projects through
