      PR Manager

Riverside Building; County Hall, Westminster Bridge Rd
      London, GREATER LONDON, SE1 7PB
      United Kingdom

We’re on the lookout for a PR Manager to own and implement the PR plan for our Southbank attractions (SEA LIFE London, London Dungeon and Shrek’s Adventure) – and join a team where you’ll experience being part of a fairy-tale adventure, explore London’s dark past and have sharks and penguins watch on as you go about your daily work!

Working closely with the Head of PR and Head of Marketing, you’ll ensure all owned and earned media opportunities are exploited, that positive exposure for the attractions is maximised, and reputational risk minimised to meet or exceed the business volume, revenue, and EBITDA annual targets. At Merlin, we drive demand through a diverse approach to audiences and routes to market, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable being reactive to volatile market conditions and business performance, and delivering against a clear strategy of creating world class marketing, PR and communications to our guests.

This is a full-time, permanent position averaging 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days a week, which may include bank holidays, weekends, and early/late finishes as required.

      What we are looking for…

      • Strong experience working in a world class organisation and / or PR agency.
      • An impressive record of building and maintaining a positive public image for a company or organisation.
      • Up-to-date knowledge and strong relationships with the media, with proven ability to build trusted relationships externally.
      • Extensive experience writing press releases, facilitating press interviews, and briefing spokespeople for interviews.
      • Crisis management experience
      • Knowledge of managing third party agencies and suppliers, including using Gorkana & Cision to track coverage and collate weekly/monthly reports.
      • Excellent planning, budget management, time management and organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple projects and partners at one time.
      • Highly adaptable and collaborative mindset that can uncover potential growth opportunities for both short- and long-term success.
      • A passion for our brands and attractions, including creating world class memories and experiences for our guests.

What will we give in return?

      • A discretionary company bonus
      • 33 days holiday, including bank holidays
      • Access to an employee perks website offering discounts on everything from hotel stays to wellbeing classes
      • Travel loan scheme
      • Merlin Magic Pass – allowing you, your family, and friends free entry into our attractions globally!
      • 40% online LEGO discount
      • A truly inclusive culture where everyone is encouraged to be themselves at work and have access to career enabling development opportunities

      Everyone Matters at Merlin.
At Merlin we welcome the world to our magical attractions and resorts every day and we want to reflect that same multicultural mix inside our business too. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse workplace where people can be themselves, have the same opportunities and thrive together. Because at Merlin, everyone matters! Together, we work to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, no matter their age, race, gender, disability or sexual orientation. Although we understand that we'll always be learning and growing, we aim to be the most inclusive and flexible employer in our industry.

If you have any questions or if you require any assistance, because of a disability or medical condition, please contact us by email at Midway.Recruitment@merlinentertainments.biz and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.
