      Job summary

      Due to retirement, we are looking for an individual with strong skills in people management, finance, and business management to work with the GP partners in providing a profitable, effective, and efficient business in order to continue to provide excellent health are to our 6600 patients.

      The role will be 32-35 hours week, possibly over 4 days. Salary on enquiry and dependant on experience. NHS pension scheme, private health care and 5 weeks holiday included.

      Main duties of the job

      To lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of organisation functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency, and financial performance, ensuring the organisation achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment, drive target delivery using your own initiative.

      About us

      We are a well-established, dynamic, and caring three GP partner practice who work collaboratively with our Practice Manager and full-time Reception Manager with weekly meetings. We have a well-established clinical team consisting of five salaried GPs, one ANP and a full complement of nursing and HCA team. We are a training practice for GP ST doctors and we are a gold award training practice for medical students with the highest feedback scores in the South Manchester area. We are very active within our PCN and one of our partners has previously been a PCN clinical director. Our Chadsfield team are an innovative practice and have been involved in piloting projects to improve efficiencies, as well as Oxford University research.

      Job responsibilities

      As part of a well-established and supportive team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of practice processes.

      Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organisation, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.

      Functional management of all clinical and administrative staff, with direct line management of all staff including salaried GPs (non-clinical aspects only)

      Managing the recruitment and retention of staff; develop, implement, appraise and embed an effective succession plan. Implementing effective systems for the resolution of disciplinary and grievance issues.

      Supporting the management of all complaints

      Maintaining an effective overview of and ensuring compliance with HR legislation

      Ensuring all staff have the appropriate level of training to enable them to carry out their individual roles and responsibilities effectively.

      Managing the financial elements of the organisation, including staff wages, pension, budgets, bank accounts, accounting systems, petty cash, etc. seeking to maximise income and reduce expenditure in conjunction with the partners. Maintaining an effective liaison with the practice accountant. Briefing partners on all financial matters, including forecasting and cashflow.

      Coordinating the reviewing and updating of all organisation policies and procedures, including developing, implementing, and embedding an efficient business continuity plan.

      Supporting the team reach to QOF/LCS and IIF targets.

      Ensuring the organisation maintains compliance with its NHS contractual and CQC obligations.

      Key liaison with Primary Care Network, the PCN Manager and any ARRS staff who provide supporting services at the practice.

      You will significantly contribute to the strategic planning and business development of the Practice.
