What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide job exploration counseling to students with disabilities
- Deliver postsecondary education counseling and workplace readiness training
- Facilitate work-based learning experiences for students
- Assist with self-advocacy and peer mentoring initiatives
- Collaborate with Local Educational Agencies and community partners to support student employment readiness
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related area, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience, including at least two years in teaching or counseling
- Current Missouri teaching certificate or substitute teacher certification required; preference for Special Education certification
- Valid Missouri driver's license and willingness to travel extensively
- Strong communication, organization, relationship-building, and leadership skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field; master's degree preferred
- Experience working with transition-age youth and familiarity with disability programs
- Demonstrated ability to interact with state agencies, school staff, and students in Missouri secondary schools
