What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule patients for hospital or medical group services via phone calls and online requests
- Work within the central referral management system to facilitate specialist and primary care referrals
- Provide excellent customer service to both physician offices and patients while reducing call abandonment rates
- Perform insurance eligibility verification and execute payer requirements to obtain accurate benefit information
- Initiate requests for authorizations and follow up with payers to ensure financial clearance is completed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma
- At least 2 years of job-related experience
- Basic proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
- Ability to safeguard patient confidentiality and adhere to compliance guidelines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree with at least 6 months of job-related experience
- National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) certification obtained within one year of hire
