What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond to billing inquiries from patients and third-party payers
- Collaborate with Physicians and clinical staff to clarify documentation and interpret clinical information
- Serve as a coding resource for clinical staff and verify accuracy of diagnosis and CPT codes
- Approve claims in Practice Management software and manage patient statements and payments
- Maintain competency in coding changes and participate in staff meetings as requested
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 2+ years of medical coding and billing experience
- High School Diploma or GED; completion of an accredited coding training program
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician) certification preferred
- Knowledge of EMR and Practice Management software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
