What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee clinical vendor management, including vendor qualification, performance oversight, and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with contracts and legal teams during vendor selection and negotiation phases
- Develop innovative solutions to outsourcing challenges while ensuring compliance with Medtronic objectives
- Serve as a strategic advisor to study teams regarding supplier capabilities and engagement models
- Lead supplier governance activities, including performance reviews and resolution of operational issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in clinical vendor management or related fields (or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience)
- Proven experience in clinical operations or clinical project management
- Strong understanding of clinical outsourcing practices and supplier governance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex vendor engagements independently
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience managing vendors supporting clinical trials (e.g., CROs, central labs)
- Advanced degree, MBA, or JD
- Knowledge of GCP, ICH, ISO 14155, and vendor qualification requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional governance or process improvement initiatives
- Experience developing metrics and dashboards to track vendor performance
