What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop, update, and maintain the organization’s privacy policies and procedures in compliance with applicable regulations
- Conduct regular privacy training sessions for staff to ensure understanding and compliance
- Perform periodic privacy audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of privacy controls
- Respond to privacy incidents and breaches, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Prepare and present privacy metrics and compliance reports to leadership and regulatory authorities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study required
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare privacy compliance experience
- In-depth knowledge of privacy laws, including HIPAA, HITECH, and state privacy laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with staff and regulatory authorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s Degree in a related field of study or Juris Doctor
- Experience interpreting and applying privacy regulations in healthcare settings
- Relevant privacy certifications such as CHPC, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM
