      We are pleased to advertise for a Procurement Manager on an initial 6 month Fixed Term contract to join our busy team. Please note due to contract length we can only accept candidates with no more than a 4 week notice period, and who have public sector experience.

      We are looking to appoint a Procurement Manager on an initial 6 months basis with the potential to extend.

      The aim of the Procurement Department is to maximise savings and benefits, improve capability and to make sustainable procurement Business as Usual for the goods and services we need. The team supports our Corporate Plan through the efficient procurement of goods and services, developing collaborative working partnerships, whilst meeting statutory obligations.

      The post holder will report to the Head of Procurement for day-to-day activities and functional development. The Procurement Manager will work in collaboration with internal colleagues and external organisations to deliver a customer focused approach to continuous improvement, encouraging all team members to meet the needs of customers across the organisation. Occasional direction will be given by Director of Corporate Services as appropriate.

      Contract Type: 6 month FTC (potential to extend)
      Salary Grade: Grade H, (£47,095- £53,647)

      This role will ideally be based out of our Glasgow or Edinburgh office but other bases would be considered. VisitScotland operates a hybrid working culture, partially office and partially home based.

      In order to be considered for the Procurement Manager role, we ask that you can demonstrate in CV and Covering Letter the following:

      What you must have

      • Knowledge and understanding of current public sector procurement best practice with appropriate experience of Scottish public procurement regulations
      • Extensive experience in procurement for a comparable sized organisation.
      • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative. A wide knowledge of contract law, International and UK procurement legislation alongside an appreciation of Government developments in terms of Sustainable Procurement.
      • Proven ability to work effectively in complex collaborative environment with significant experience of partnership working both internally and externally and the ability to establish trust and credibility.
      • Strong commercial awareness with an in-depth understanding of the funding and financial issues that influence and affect decisions.
      • Experience in Contract & Supplier Management
      • Project Management skills
      • Change Management skills
