The Procurement Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the James Avery’s Procurement department to negotiate the best price, quality and terms of purchases of various goods and services. Accountable for the oversight of indirect and direct purchasing operations, orders and requisitions. Ensures procurement processes are aligned with company goals and objectives and evaluates areas such as product/service sourcing, suppliers, pricing/terms, contract administration and shipping methods for strategic effectiveness. Resolves discrepancies and identifies potential risks or issues with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
This is Full Time, Onsite position located on our Main Campus in Kerrville, TX.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders and teams, in order to evolve and when necessary define strategy.
•Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery. Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
•Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership. Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
•Source and negotiate with outside vendors in the purchase of merchandise or materials for the various divisions including retail stores and manufacturing. Monitors reports on vendor performance and resolves any issues or disputes that may arise.
•Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact James Avery. Ensure necessary sourcing strategies are reviewed and updated.
•Lead and mentor the Procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
•Responsible for the overall leadership, direction and evaluation of employees.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
•5 years’ procurement or purchasing experience.
•Experience in leading cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration and effectively managing diverse stakeholders.
•Proficiency with MS Office (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and experience with business intelligence software (Incorta, Tableau, etc.).
•Familiarity with procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, procurement platforms).
•Ability to travel internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
•Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPM).
•Strong knowledge of contract law and vendor management.
•Oracle ERP and ASCP experience.
