      Procurement Manager

      The role will preferably be based in the UK/Poland/US

      The Logistics Procurement team at GSK operates on a global scale, leveraging a total cost of ownership methodology to ensure suppliers meet or exceed goals in quality, compliance, delivery, and cost. As a Procurement Manager you will contribute to the category strategy development with the objective of maximising value, innovations, growth and process efficiencies.

      In this role you will:

      • Support strategic sourcing strategies for a defined portfolio
      • Lead suppliers and contract negotiations
      • Deliver Procurement strategy across portfolio
      • Create and implement Procurement initiatives which improve quality of service and supply and produce significant cost savings across business units or supply networks
      • Know and utilise complex business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements
      • Partner with key stakeholders across global Supply Chain to understand business requirements to deliver relevant strategic procurement solutions
      • Lead Supplier Relationship Management to enable additional value creation
      • Ensure suppliers deliver best value by actively benchmarking and negotiating contracts changes
      • Support sustainability initiatives to meet GSK goals

      Key responsibilities:

      • Support global category strategies development and execution
      • Identify opportunities for process optimisation within global logistics network
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring business alignment on critical objectives
      • Support budgeting process
      • Lead tender process, ensure compliance with GSK Procurement policies and procedures
      • Negotiate contracts with suppliers
      • Work closely with supply chain team to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation of global category strategy
      • Evaluate vendor performance regularly and implement improvement plans as necessary to meet quality and service standards

      Required Qualifications and Skills:

      • Bachelor’s degree in preferred discipline of Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or related filed.
      • Proven experience in global logistics management role with a focus on global transportation, warehousing and customs brokerage
      • Category management and strategic souring knowledge and experience
      • Knowledge of market drivers effecting category and of the latest tools for executing sourcing strategies (Jaggaer, Ariba, etc.) required for annual benchmarking, sourcing, and negotiation process
      • Negotiations skills necessary for complex negotiations across GSK markets
      • Experience in managing the delivery of global scale projects and change management

      Other Capabilities / Characteristics:

      • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks applying project management skills
      • Proven ability to provide effective procurement management in complex organisations using technical expertise and analytical skills
      • High energy, enthusiastic and results driven
      • Problem-solving skills
      • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and a collaborative mindset
      • Good understanding of market drivers effecting category; strong commitment to keeping abreast of trends
