- Execute the company’s purchasing arrangements for assigned products in support of its business strategy and plan.
- Identify suppliers and arranges optimal contracts in terms of pricing, quality, timing, and supply availability over the term of the contract.
- Advise SCM Leadership Team on the availability of specific products and pricing, pre-qualifying new suppliers and facilities in terms of price, capacity, and quality. Ensures costs are within budget.
- Assist the Executive Director/Director in the design and execution of the three to five year purchasing strategic plan, anticipating business requirements. The plan includes identifying supplier sources, their purchasing capacity, and any legal/tariff issues.
- Inform the ED and senior leadership on any industry issues, such as government regulations, Act of God situations, mergers, acquisitions, personnel changes, new item introduction, etc.
- Recruit, select, and develop an effective purchasing team.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the team to meet the department’s people planning and development goals.
- Identify new suppliers to support future growth.
- Attend industry conferences to identify potential domestic and international suppliers and gain industry insights.
- Evaluate potential suppliers to ensure safety and management of risk.
- Negotiate with new suppliers over cost and collaborates with logistics to bring products into distribution.
- Maintain a strong professional relationship between suppliers and the company.
- Communicate with suppliers concerning all aspects of the partnership including PRG philosophy and growth plans and align suppliers with Panda to support our growth.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and fitness of suppliers to determine our procurement strategy.
- Manage and support cross-functional projects with departments such as Product Development, FSQA, Marketing, Legal, Finance and Logistics related to product testing, promotional calendar, safety, quality feedback from Operations, and phasing in products within distribution.
- Arrange items for both domestic and international stores and new concepts.
- Oversee procurement for international expansion, including company-owned, franchise, and licensed stores.

- Bachelor’s degree required; CPSM certification preferred.
- Minimum seven years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in a multi-unit food service and/or manufacturing organization.
- If hired, successful completion of annual store training.
- If hired, must provide proof of full vaccination on start date, unless prohibited by federal, state, or local law. Full vaccination means two weeks or more have passed after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series, or more than two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine. Examples of proof of full vaccination include an original, photocopied, or digital completed vaccination card that includes name, type of vaccine provided, and date of last dose administered.

The Procurement Manager is responsible for achieving optimal arrangements related to purchasing assigned products. This position executes the selection, evaluation, and negotiation for assigned PRG products, ensuring that the suppliers selected fit Panda’s culture and philosophy, have the necessary capacity, and provide the items at the best price and highest quality.
