- Create and amend Purchase Orders
- Work with requisitioners as needed to review the requisition process, provide guidance
- Prepare vouchers and send to the County for processing
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, board policies, and regulations related to public sector procurement
- Perform Due Diligence on cooperative contracts
- Prepare and manage sealed bids
- Prepare and manage procurement lists and reports required for Governing Board review and approval
- Maintains accurate purchasing records and documentation
- Support the district’s receiving processes and asset management
- Assist with the District’s purchasing card system
- Assist with the District’s annual financial audits
- Communicates with District personnel, teachers, vendors, and business community
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus some college coursework in accounting, business, or related field preferred .
- Minimum three to five years recent experience in procurement, purchasing, accounting/finance in a school district or similar setting strongly preferred
- Experience in the use of School ERP Pro or other comparable school finance software
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, procedures, and laws
- Working knowledge of the USFR and the Chart of Accounts strongly preferred
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, federal rules, and laws as they pertain to the position
- Highly skilled in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and relevant software applications (Google Apps., Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Must pass a background check
- Proof of MMR immunization required (unless born prior to January 1, 1957
- Negative TB test within the last year
- Valid AZ driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of office concepts, practices and procedures
- Capability to be highly organized, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Excellent communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work as part of a team, establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of Career and Technical Education.

Sa l a r y Range: Starting Placement $21.50 – $29.00 DOE
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the purchasing process for goods and services to support the district’s operations and instructional needs. Experience in managing bids, RFPs, purchase orders and proficiency with accounting software, strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills. Ensures all procurement activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and carries out all relevant duties in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR). Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
