      About The Department

      The Product department is responsible for ensuring abrdn has a client focused product offering across alternatives and public market asset classes. The alternatives product team ensures products are managed through the whole product life cycle with responsibility for strategy, development and ongoing management and governance. This includes both institutional and wholesale offerings across Real Estate, Private Credit, Infrastructure and Private Market solutions. Alternatives is a core strategic focus for abrdn and this role offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing team to deliver commercial success through clear asset class product strategies and product innovation aligned to client needs and corporate objectives.

      About The Role

      The Product Strategy and Development Manager (Alternatives) role is responsible for leading product strategy and development across the product range. The role holder will be comfortable leading a cross functional approach to strategy and development and will be directly responsible for ensuring clear asset class product strategies are in place and new products are designed to meet client needs. The individual and team work closely with the Client Group and Investment teams to bring insightful and strategic client input into product activity.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Develop and maintain an asset class product strategy
      • Foster an innovative and collegiate environment that drives a strong innovative product pipeline aligned to client needs and corporate objectives.
      • Work across a number of geographies and vehicles types to deliver solutions for clients in the appropriate legal structures.
      • Support abrdn’s new vehicle strategy e.g. Tokenisation, ETFs, LTAF
      • Champion commercial objectivity and prioritisation of opportunities
      • Responsible for understanding the product shelf and engaging on range management opportunities
      • Ensure all products and segregated/club deals are taken through the appropriate governance channels

      About The Candidate

      The successful candidate in this role should meet the following requirements:

      • Substantial product experience in alternative asset classes and in developing and launching new propositions. Particular interest in candidates with Private Credit experience
      • A strong understanding of fund structures and the regulatory requirements associated with alternative investment funds
      • Robust project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
      • Strong strategic thinking, organisational and communication skills are essential.
      • Ability to think strategically and also focus on the delivery of key initiatives
