Understand the business needs through partnership with stakeholder to obtain deep knowledge of clinical and business operations; assess what stakeholders need to achieve those strategic objectives.

Translate strategic discussions into an actionable data and analytic roadmap that articulates the high-level requirements of easy to use data and analytic products which are embedded into the clinical and operational workflow. Effective prioritization and decision making with stakeholders is critical.

Articulate the value through storytelling: artfully weaving together a technical data and analytic product with business operations and how it will lead to better decisions, actions, and clinical / patient outcomes.

Work closely with the business before a product is developed to ensure there is a path to operationalizing the data and analytic product and inject the insights into the workflow. This critical step is required to achieve the value from the work.

Focus on core aspects of Product Management for the PHM/VBC data & analytic products

Primary liaison between PHM/VBC business owners and the MGB Digital team, bridging the gap between the technical team and the business; deeply understanding business needs of prioritized stakeholders

Develop and ensure alignment on short-term delivery goals and long-term data and analytic roadmaps with clear articulation of expected value and why the work is prioritized

Ensure data and analytic products are operationalized and continue to deliver value

Hire, manage, and retain talented staff, sustaining goals of diversity and ensuring the roles meeting the needs of MGB’s PHM programs and the top priorities of the data, analytics, and decision support function. Articulate the value story of how data and analytics is positively impacting stakeholders

Create, manage, and share an overall PHM/VBC Road Map both internally and externally which articulates the value of the work we do

Direct an analytics initiative from ideation through production and adoption and understand the life cycle of an analytics initiative and the common pitfalls

Understand the suite of data & analytic products / models (e.g., deep learning vs. logistic regression) and to what business problems they can be applied

Conduct basic data analysis and review of information prior to sharing with stakeholders

Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in Data and Analytics, Healthcare, and / or aligned field

BS required, advanced degree preferred

A strong foundation and experience in working in a complex healthcare environment is required

Mix of experience on both technical and business side of healthcare

Experience with data visualization tools

Understanding of health care financing, payment methodology, medical economics, performance measurement, and data analytics

Experience with payer claims data

Demonstrated experience with managing staff, including hiring, developing, and ensuring staff are meeting expectations.

Track record of developing and implementing innovative highly available, scalable and secure enterprise data and analytic deployments to meet current and future business needs

Deep consultative experience with demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical programs which deliver real business value

Extensive experience leading large, complex projects, including strategic and tactical planning and implementation, analysis, design, technology selection and deployment

Strong track record of operational excellence in budget, talent, and communication with demonstrated innovation in the field

Excellent consultative skills, understanding business needs and translating those needs to technical requirements. Clear communication to business and technical leaders

!*!As part of our mission to support our patients and provide value, the MGB Digital Enterprise Analytics team is hiring a Product Manager to oversee the PHM/VBC portfolio. The PHM/VBC department at Mass General Brigham is charged with the challenge to drive better value for patients by building high-quality, cost-efficient care models. PHM leverages financial and clinical data to examine opportunities to design and deliver innovative care models to drive ongoing improvements. The portfolio includes initiatives for Care Management, Performance Management, Quality and Risk Capture.
The Product Manager will be asked to do the following:
The Product Manager reports to the VP Enterprise Analytics . S/he will work with stakeholders across the dimensions of PHM/VBC to develop the vision and roadmap. The Product Manager will collaborate across the MGB Digital and PHM/VBC organizations and play a key role in developing products in an agile method.
Success in the role will be measured by articulating and realizing end business value (e.g., revenue, cost, patient outcomes, physician satisfaction, etc.) and articulating, meeting / exceeding agreed upon VBC operational metrics closely tied to excellence in delivery
