What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist and mentor staff in overseeing development and implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Product Stewardship (PS) programs
- Review and report on the performance of EPR and PS programs to Ecology leadership
- Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of EPR and PS laws and policies with stakeholders
- Conduct bill analysis and assist with fiscal note development for new legislation
- Serve as the primary contact for the Northwest Product Stewardship Council Steering Committee and related groups
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Eleven (11) years of combined experience and/or education in land use, environmental planning, or closely related fields
- Expertise in policy development and legislative analysis, including leading bill development and fiscal notes
- Significant experience with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Product Stewardship (PS) programs
- Strong program and project management skills, able to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with various stakeholders

- Skill in researching emerging issues and evaluating data
- Experience leading legislative or policy initiatives
- Understanding of equity and environmental justice principles in policy work
- Ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences
