What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct timely audits of providers and coders for accurate code assignment
- Provide real-time education and feedback to providers and coders based on audit results
- Document audit findings and report adverse trends to management
- Assist in developing coding guidelines and conducting provider education programs
- Serve as a coding compliance resource and assist with coding and charge entry as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Associate degree in health-related field preferred
- Minimum three years of current ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding experience
- AAPC/CPC certification required
- AAPC/CPMA certification strongly recommended at hire
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Formal education in ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding principles
- AAPC/CRC certification strongly recommended
- Experience in a multi-specialty medical practice or comparable coding experience
