- Minimum of one year supervisory experience required; informal leadership roles may suffice.
- Experience in affordable housing or property management is preferred.
- Knowledge of affordable housing programs (e.g., Tax Credit, HUD, Section 8) is highly desirable.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good judgment, self-control, and the ability to de-escalate conflicts.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse socio-economic and ethnic groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Yardi is a plus.
- Understanding of landlord-tenant law, safety procedures, and building maintenance systems.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable transportation for property visits.
- Initiative and follow-through are essential.
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and/or Certified Tax Credit Specialist, or willingness to obtain within six months.
- May supervise Maintenance Technicians, Custodians, and Resident Coordinators; collaborates with Service Coordinators.
- Basic math skills; experience with budgeting is a plus but training will be provided.
- Frequent use of computer; physical activities include walking, standing, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Primarily indoor work at apartment complexes with some outdoor inspections.
- May be exposed to noise, hazards, and challenging resident interactions.

The Property Manager position is responsible for the daily operation of the properties and supervision of maintenance and on-site staff. This includes mentoring junior staff and collaborating with the Resident Services Coordinator to create a supportive environment for residents. The Property Manager ensures the property is well-maintained within operating and financial policies and in compliance with all regulations. Support to other managers and participation in special projects may also be part of the role.
Location: The position will work at two SAHA properties in Berkeley, CA: Lawrence Moore Manor and Stuart Pratt Manor.
