- Create calendars and milestones for simultaneous bids and confirming adherence to timelines
- Develop outlines to create compelling, innovative, and complaint approaches
- Create proposal artifacts: matrices, tables, graphs, executive summaries, and management approaches
- Track Q&A’s; reviewing and identifying changes, documenting and distributing/discussing the changes with the bid team
- Ensure past performance/resume updates are timely and completed with relevant team members
- Coordinate proposal kick off, color review and lessons learned meetings; verify any action items and comments are completed
- Review draft content to ensure proposal content flows, is consistent, and compliant
- Support desktop publishing to finalize proposal content
- Coordinate with graphic designers to create visually appealing bids that meet corporate standards
- Provide quality control and feedback on process or procedure improvement within department and/or cross-functionally.
- Assist in identifying needs for and/or managing strategic library content.
- Ensure adherence to standards and templates to present a consistent appearance/style across proposal responses.
- Use existing proposal response library to effectively address recurring content inquiries and develop tailored RFx responses.
- At least three years of experience writing and coordinating federal government proposal or grants.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint Point, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint applications.
- Strong editorial and proofreading skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Ability to research, interpret and analyze RFx requirements.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Demonstrated experience managing proposal for healthcare-related markets a plus.
- Experience writing proposal volumes; researching and editing compliant proposal content; and leading color reviews.
- Demonstrated experience using established industry best practices, processes and systems.
- Excellent research skills and the ability to effectively gather information needed from files, team members and senior staff members.
- Adept at translating technical and scientific information into client-friendly proposals.
- General knowledge of federal government contract types (IDIQ, FFP, T&M, CPFF) and basic understanding of federal government procurement policies and practices.

Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a detail-oriented Proposal Manager with experience managing winning federal business proposals to join the Bid & Proposals (B&P) group. The B&P group is an evolving team focused on supporting the organization to achieve long-term and short-term business growth goals. The B&P group provides proposal management, technical writing, and graphic development support services across the organization and is responsible for establishing and enforcing governance/standards and performance reporting that must evolve as the company grows. As a member of the B&P group, the Proposal Manager leads the preparation and development of high-quality, compliant, and compelling client-focused bids.
This role requires a collaborative team member who can effectively work across all levels of Aptive, gathering information and producing critical content under tight deadlines. You must be able to proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure written content is appropriate and up to the highest quality standards, while maintaining complete fidelity to accuracy and proper handling of sensitive information. The Proposal Manager must be able to understand Request for Proposal or Request for Quote (RFx) requirements, synthesize discussions with company resources and leverage existing documentation to develop effective written responses.
