- Project/Contract Management:
- Provides support to assigned departments and divisions.
- Manages preparation, implementation, and execution of the procurement process.
- Vendor Coordination, Creating Specifications, and County Procurement Policy knowledge.
- Assists in project tracking with procurement-related progress and potential delays.
- Submit, Review, and Approve requisitions for all Precinct 2 departments.
- Runs and analyzes budget overviews for user departments.
- Tracking requisition status and assisting Harris County Purchasing Buyers for Purchase Order dispatching.
- Credit Card reconciliation for Precinct 2 Travel & Procurement cards.
- Reports generation for standing meetings with assigned departments users and directors.
- Assist departments with Travel arrangements via National Travel systems on an as needed basis.
- Review and Approve Amazon & Staples orders for departments
- Process Invoices for respective departments in Harris County
financial systems. - High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution
- Five (5) years of Purchasing experience, preferably in the government arena.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word , Teams)
- Ability to learn other software and programs through on the job training and provided written job aides.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
- Customer Service Skills- for both internal (Pct. 2 Departments and external (Vendors)
customers - Strong time management skills and organization skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Ability to learn to work with Open Text- AIR
- Some college from an accredited educational institution (preferred)
- Ability to learn to work with PeopleSoft Financial Module Preferred (preferred)
Full-time | Monday - Friday | 40 hours per week
This may include weekends and holidays.

- This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Noise level in the work environment is usually average.
- Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted, 100 pounds with assistance rarely; carrying tools, materials, and equipment over rough terrain; climbing, reaching and bending. Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, drive, hear, bend, stoop, twist, and balance.
What you will do at Harris County Precinct 2
This role will perform vital Purchasing operational functions. These duties ensure Precinct 2 can procure the goods and services needed for the successful operation of the organization.
All Budget and Finance Department team members are cross trained at least at a base level in other operations of the department. This position will provide basic to moderate levels of support to the Budget and Accounts Payable teams when needed.
