      Position Type: Part-Time (Academic year, 8 to 10 hours per week)

      Reports To: Coordinator of the respective Center (i.e., MRC, NAC, NTSC, and QRC)

      Position Summary: The Student Program Assistant is a student staff member within their assigned center and plays a key role in the day-to-day functioning, programming and student engagement of the Queer Resource Center, Multicultural Resource Center, Native American Center, Non-Traditional Student Center.

      The Student Program Assistant will work in close collaboration with the center coordinator to help first-year and continuing students connect, build community, and achieve success at UWSP.

      Compensation: $12.50 per hour

      Hours: 8 to 10 hours per week

      Student Program Assistant responsibilities could include:
      • Support coordinator with planning and executing key programs per semester, completing all organization (space reservations, materials, marketing) at least one week in advance
      • Attend and contribute to weekly individual and staff meetings, sharing updates on outreach, engagement, and communications
      • Support program execution by assisting with program setup, facilitation, and/or clean up
      • Track attendance for 100% of center programs using university approved designated systems
      • Collect participant feedback for at least 75% of programs through surveys or informal feedback
      • Promote 100% of upcoming programs through at least two university approved outreach methods (e.g., tabling, social media, SPIN, Navigate)
      • Document 100% of center programs through photos/videos (with appropriate consent)
      • Update bulletin boards and any in center display at least biweekly to reflect current programming and resources
      • Ensure all content aligns with university branding and standards for 100% of posts/materials
      • Maintain a clean and organized space by completing at least one space check per shift
      • Monitor and restock supplies in the center, reporting needs within 24-48 hours
      • Submit post event reports and reflections within 3-5 days for 100% of programs
      • Assist in developing end of semester summaries or reports for center
      • Attend 100% of required training and development sessions
      • Set and track at least 2-3 personal leadership goals per semester
      • Address and/or report student concerns (e.g. engagement, academic, etc) within 24 hours to. center coordinator


      Qualifications:
      • Be in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
      • Must be Sophomore standing or higher.
      • Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Familiar with UWSP Campus (i.e., Academic resources, residential life, campus activities)
      • Ability to address sensitive concerns of students in a professional, tactful, and confidential manner
      • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain professionalism.
      • Ability to foster an open, friendly, and engaging environment that supports and respects the diverse needs of students


      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Currently an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
      • Prior experience as a mentor, tutor, or related leadership position.
      • Experience facilitating group discussions or presentations.
      • Experience planning events
