Job Description

- Design, develop, and improve Trex products, processes, and raw materials.
- Set-up and lead process experiments; report results with recommended operating parameters for materials and equipment based on observed data and best practices.
- Develop product test methods and lead product testing, data acquisition and analysis to substantiate product performance and durability.
- Machine and die design using SolidWorks to support product and process development.
- Develop all required product, process, and/or raw material documentation.
- Balance multiple projects and evolving priorities to support the needs of the business.
- Generate project ideas to improve Trex costs, profitability, market share and product offering.
- Conduct safe execution of pilot and/or plant trials and testing.
- Communicate and consult with outside technical resources, including vendors.
- Communicate project status as needed across all departments and levels of the organization as required.
- Directly or indirectly supervise technicians in the completion of assignments.

As a Trex R&D Engineer II, you’ll be responsible for bringing best in class outdoor product solutions to market.
A member of our Research and Development team, you’ll be helping us through design and development of new products and processes and improving on existing technology.
DUTIES
EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical and/or Mechanical Engineering along with five or more years of experience is required. If you have experience in product or process development, especially wood polymer composites, we want to talk to you!
Have experience in thermoplastic processing? You’ll fit in just fine.
While travel for this position is not extensive, you must have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
