Work rotating 12-hour shifts to ensure 24/7/365 trading coverage, including emergency support as needed
Analyze and forecast client system needs for energy purchases and sales
Optimize power generation and transmission assets to drive profitability and reliability
Execute and confirm energy and reserve transactions, ensuring accuracy in all deal capture systems
Collaborate with term traders and RTO specialists to develop and deploy trading strategies
Monitor real-time system loads, forecasts, and resource availability
Stay current on client resource mixes, market rules, tagging practices, and RTO protocols
Pursue TEA-backed trading income opportunities and evaluate bilateral market conditions
Ensure all trades comply with company and client-specific risk policies
Train and support new traders and support specialists in TEA processes and market dynamics

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university required
Preferred majors include technical or business-related disciplines
Prior experience in the energy industry and familiarity with trade capture systems is a plus

Join Our Team as a Real-Time Trader in Jacksonville!
Are you ready to dive into the fast-paced world of energy trading on a national scale? As a Real-Time Trader based in Jacksonville, you’ll actively negotiate hourly energy transactions across both the Eastern and Western U.S. markets. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of power generation assets—including renewable wind energy—on behalf of public power utilities that serve their communities. In this role, you’ll collaborate with term traders, portfolio managers, RTO specialists, and analysts to execute high-impact trading strategies that maximize value and minimize risk for our clients.
