      Department: Behavioral Health @ Henry Ford Rochester Hospital- Contingent- Rotating shifts with rotating weekends; 8 hour shifts

      GENERAL SUMMARY

      Develops and implements activity therapy treatment plans.

      Responsibilities:

      • Conducts patient assessments and establishes recreational/leisure therapy treatment goals.
      • Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational/leisure therapy interventions.
      • Coordinates therapeutic recreational/leisure activities for both large and small groups. Observes patient response and encourages socialization.
      • Provides patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic recreational/leisure activities in the community.

      Licensure / Certification / Registration:

      • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association
      • Therapist specializing in Recreation credentialed from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification preferred.
      • Associates or higher in Recreational Therapy
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Excellent computer skills
      • Previous experience with Behavioral Health populations

      Education:

      • Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. No additional preferences.
