      As the Regional Airport Manager , you will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership, operational performance and operational oversight of the NZ & Pacific Island Region with a strong focus on transformational change and continuous improvement. You will be accountable for operations, safety, customer delivery, people leadership, regulatory compliance, risk identification and management, supplier management and budgets for all airports within the regional portfolio.

      This is a matrixed leadership role, with both regional and functional reporting line. The role reports directly to the Head Offshore Airports and is a key member of the offshore leadership team and will be driving the airports agenda within the broader team as well as collaborating between airport operations and regional departments (such as sales & marketing) to jointly create business value. This role will also take a lead role in the development and delivery of all aspects of the global offshore airport’s strategy, represent the business with all Local Governments, Authorities and Agencies and lead introduction of new ports.

      You’ll have:

      • 10 + years management experience in an operational environment (ideally airports) with significant people management responsibility
      • Previous experience working on large and complex projects with many and varied stakeholders, ideally within an operational company
      • Tertiary Qualifications in a Business, Aviation, Safety or related discipline
      • Strong people and leadership skills including employee development, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
      • Expert in managing safety systems, assurance, risk and security
      • Commercial leadership with extensive experience in complex contract negotiations and proven transformation record
      • Exceptional leadership and people management capability with the ability to lead, motivate, engage and develop high performing teams.
      • Project management and process improvement experience and expertise, including experience leading and managing offshore ground handling providers
      • An exceptional commercial acumen, with an analytical approach and a demonstrated ability to generate genuine insights from data.
      • Extensive knowledge of the international airport network and offshore operational environment
      • Experience working with Airport authorities and/or representing the interests of Qantas on airport boards or committees
      • Experience in crisis management, the management of disruptions affecting customers and Qantas customer recovery processes and strategies
      • Ability to effectively communicate, influence and negotiation verbally and in writing, with all levels of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
