      Job Scope

      • The Manager, Regional DSD Transportation role is a regional leadership role that is responsible for ensuring efficient and compliant transportation related activities within our delivery business. The Manager, Regional DSD Delivery is responsible for effectively driving execution against all core KPI’s. Additional responsibilities: Being directly engaged with the Delivery Supervisors – provide ongoing coaching, working to enhance local supplier relationships, partnering with local DSD management and Centralized Routing in optimizing our delivery and shuttle performance, while ensuring compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
      • KPIs: ELD and routing efficiency performance metrics, DOT compliance metrics, equipment utilization, DC transportation budget performance, driver safety incidents/accidents, OT%, driver review and management of high-risk drivers across the region, outside freight/3PL frequency and spend, PM Compliance, idle time performance, maintenance rebills.
      • Direct and manage initiatives that improve operational efficiency within Transportation.
      • Increase Transportation skill sets within DSD.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Review and appropriately challenge all maintenance rebills.
      • Ensure PM compliance.
      • Review needs for DSD freight spend and use of 3PL/temp drivers and equipment.
      • Manage vehicle rental spend.
      • Assist with creation of annual fleet budgets.
      • Manage idle time performance.
      • Ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (DQF, HOS, D&A testing, Equipment, etc), Internal/External audits.
      • Provide training to DC staff on daily management of vehicle, driver, and route performance leveraging ELD and Route Optimization data
      • Management of ELD system data to ensure optimal performance.
      • Field training on transportation management.
      • Financial management of transportation related budget costs.
      • Development and coordination of driver safety meetings and general vehicle safety initiatives.
      • Coordinate activities of all region vehicle safety meetings and/or conferences and contributes to appropriate safety meetings.
      • Contribute to creating, reviewing, and revising company commercial vehicle safety policies and procedures.
      • Conduct safety reviews to include compliance to Company policies and FMCSA regulations.
      • Assist with government FMCSA audits and follow up with corporate contacts.
      • Primary “point of contact” and liaison for commercial vehicle safety and maintenance issues with our maintenance providers.
      • Assist with creating and presenting field location training on multiple Company and FMCSA compliance programs, monitor and assist employee online training.
      • Contribute to reviewing and validating preventability for vehicle incident classification ruling for all region incidents involving commercial motor vehicles.
      • Manage, monitor, and record all vehicle incidents required by regulations into 3rd party claims management system.
      • Assist in the facilitation of company driven safety reward programs
      • Assist in management of driver hours of service, use measures and field training to ensure driver hours and record of duty status comply with FMCSA regulations.
      • Assisting with creating and presenting field location training.
      • Monitoring, tracking, and increasing participation in monthly driver training.
      • Investigations – coaching front line managers through the vehicle incident investigation process as necessary and reviewing all completed investigations.

      -Demonstrated ability to manage projects, handle conflict, and lead change.

      Education / Certifications:

      Educational background in business, logistics, or related field (recommended but not required)

      Job specific requirements:

      -5 years transportation management experience focused on drivers and fleet

      -Organizational ability

      -Team/people development

      -Have or be willing to obtain CTP certification through NPTC within 18 months of hire

      Travel requirements:

      Within Country Relocation support available and for candidates voluntarily moving internationally some minimal support is offered through our Volunteer International Transfer Policy
