      POSITION SUMMARY:

      The Regional Used Firearms Manager will bring knowledge of used firearms and their values. This role will purchase used firearms and work with the Retail Used Firearm departments to ensure the acquisition and sales of used firearms are accurate and compliant with all Bass Pro/Cabela’s, ATF, State and Local law requirements. This role is responsible for purchasing used firearms for the Bass Pro/Cabela’s retail stores.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      • Identifies used firearms purchasing opportunities locally and regionally.
      • Aligns gun purchases to maximize sales and margins of used firearms in retail stores.
      • Acquires inventory via private sales, estate sales, pawnshops, dealers, etc.
      • Arranges transportation of firearms back to Bass Pro/Cabela’s retail locations.
      • Sorts and distributes inventory to Bass Pro/Cabela’s locations.
      • Remains available to the Bass Pro/CAB retail locations to teach, train, help, and mentor in operational questions and the buying process and ensure firearms are purchased with financial responsibility.
      • Tracks sales, margin, and inventory levels to manage the daily business to ensure profitability across the company.
      • Helps level inventories and review pricing strategies at each of the Used Gun departments within their region to ensure business goals set by Merchant team at Basecamp.
      • Leads and helps ensure the maintenance of ATF, Bass Pro/Cabela’s compliance standards and policies.
      • Communicates with store teams and the internet department to understand customer buying preferences and corresponding price points.
      • Works with the stores and Regional teams to ensure Used Firearm departments are staffed properly and ensures that the stores are doing what they can to drive sales.
      • Participates and facilitates Bi-Weekly Used Firearm calls within direct region.
      • Partners with Regional Retail directors when necessary around all Used Firearm business in retail stores and retail internet postings of Used Firearms.
      • Support retail stores with follow up fact checking questions to support experience and knowledge of Used Firearm Team Leads in both Bass Pro/Cabela’s retail stores.
      • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

      EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma
      • Experience: 6-8 years of work experience with New and Used Firearms and/or Gunsmithing with high-volume Firearms Retailer preferred.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

      • Strong attention to details, communication, and negotiating skills. Must be able to work inside of retail stores, as well as all conditions outside of store when acquiring firearms outside of retail stores.

      TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Travel requirements include driving and flying to offsite locations to acquire used firearms for Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s retail stores.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Regular computer work, and sitting
      • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs

      INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

      • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
