What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify patient insurance benefits and prepare financial responsibility estimates
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulations and requirements
- Obtain and update necessary referrals and authorizations via various communication methods
- Coordinate with patients regarding their insurance benefits and identify deductibles and co-pays
- Assist management and staff with account-related inquiries and perform other assigned duties
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of related revenue cycle experience in healthcare, preferably in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
- Knowledge of revenue cycle processes and clinic policies
- Familiarity with managed care contracts, medical terminology, and CPT/ICD-9 codes
- Strong skills in written and verbal communication and customer relations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with data entry in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in computer systems, programs, and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to analyze and solve problems within a healthcare setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience working with billing and medical staff
