      Position Summary

      Reporting to the Country Insight Manager, The Senior District Manager, has responsibility in understanding and giving directions for the volumes, profitability, deployment of commercial (selling cost) and marketing (A&P) spends in India. The role is responsible for managing the day-to-day interaction with the distribution partner in the area assigned to the responsible person and would help build and implement strategic plans which will enable the growth and development of our brand portfolio in the market. The individual will be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers and key customers, based on a brand driven long term mind-set, while securing operational excellence and the highest level of in-store/outlet execution.

      Job Description

      Working with the market in western part of India, exclusively for the domestic channel, the main duties of the role are to:

      • Help in developing a sales and marketing strategy to reach objectives in terms of turnover growth and profitability, on a short, middle and long-term perspective in India.
      • Work with wider Edrington teams and help Distributor develop key city strategies, turnover and profitability for business.
      • Build strong relationship with our Distributor Principal, Managers, Key Account Managers and Sales Reps at Distributor (On/Off Trade).
      • Understand and develop the price ladders in conjunction with the distributor and update periodically.
      • Ensure brand development and drive market share and brand equity whilst ensuring accurate and timely execution of agreed Plans.
      • Establish proper training program to ensure best-in-class execution.
      • Monitor, collect and analyse all industry information and become an expert on the market and its key features to help grow The Edrington portfolio.
      • Build and oversee the rolling brand sales forecast for 3 years
      • Keep track of Sales/Depletions against annual budget and update with Quarterly revisions (QBRs)
      • Build relationships in priority key accounts (on/off) to execute plans in the local areas
      • Manage payments & credit requirements, through the Distributor and Sub – Distributor
      • Monthly reporting on performance, competitor intelligence and business environment

      Skills and Experience

      To be considered for this role you will have robust knowledge and experience within the liquor industry and key account management experience. With a high commercial awareness, you will be a natural at budgets, a strategic thinker and have great analytical skills. You must be passionate about brands and sensitive to the quality of brand execution, along with strong influencing & negotiations skills to a senior level in customer base. A self-starter who leads by example and a strong team player, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

      Please note, this role will involve travel (40-50% within the region, West India).
