Job summary
This childrens home registration is attached to a school, part of Cambians autism specialist service. It provides 52 and 38 week care to children and young people, aged 8 to 19 with a diagnosis of Autism and associated conditions. Many of the young people cared for at Brook View have communication needs and may be assisted with technology devices, now and next boards or other forms of visual communication. All children registered at the care homes will access education at the on-site school provision. The registered childrens home is one registration sitting on site of multiple registrations each looking after up to 6 young people. This post involves responsibility for one of these homes. It will entail working with the other registered managers of the other homes and with the Head of Care to ensure the service is ran effectively.
Main duties of the job
As the Registered Manager you will hold the OFSTED registration for one of the childrens care homes on site. With the support of the Head of Care, you will ensure the home is compliant with the OFSTED for Care which underpinned by The Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 in line with the homes statement of purpose. You will provide support, guidance and management oversight to deputy home managers, team leaders and support workers to ensure each young person placed is provided with an opportunity to reach their full potential. An important element is role-modeling, ensuring that Cambian policies are implemented fully. You will work in partnership with the leadership of the school to promote the highest standards of care and education for the young people placed within the home.

25At least 2 years significant management/supervisory experience in a residnetial setting within the past 5 years, at a standard assessed as competent in all aspects of the job
Experience of working effectively with children and young people who have challenging behaviours and traits associated with learning difficulties, autism and complex needs
Experience of effectively managing others, including those who themselves have a supervisory role
Experience of delivering good quality training and coaching
