What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide short-term case management and care coordination for clients involved in crisis services, ensuring successful transitions to regular services
- Deliver intensive crisis follow-up services and ongoing risk assessments for clients to prevent recurrence of crises
- Assist in rapid response mobile crisis and jail diversion services, conducting assessments and interventions for both adults and children
- Collaborate with law enforcement to assist individuals with mental illness or IDD in diverting from jail to treatment
- Respond to crisis situations at Gulf Coast Center clinics and facilities, providing necessary support and assessments
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral science field
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and demonstrate effective communication skills
- General knowledge of mental health disorders and trauma-informed care practices
- Proficiency in computer skills, programs, and email
- Valid Texas Driver's License and a clear driving record in accordance with the employer's policies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree or equivalent in the behavioral sciences field from an accredited institution
- License as an LPC associate, LMSW, or LMFT associate
- Experience in crisis intervention or case management within behavioral health services
- Familiarity with community resources for mental health and substance use treatment
- Training in Psychological First Aid or similar crisis response techniques
