What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide learning activities and experiences for special education students to support their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth
- Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and instructional materials according to student ability levels
- Collaborate with IEP teams to create, implement, and monitor student progress toward IEP goals
- Ensure compliance with legal IEP requirements
- Regularly assess and adjust teaching strategies based on student needs and progress
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience working with special education students
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to modify educational materials to suit diverse learning needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in developing or modifying curricula for special education
- Familiarity with special education laws and compliance standards
- Background in assessing student progress and implementing effective teaching strategies
- Additional certifications in special education or related fields
