What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct medical record reviews and adjudicate medical waivers
- Perform military medical assessments for USCG personnel
- Ensure compliance with USCG and DoD medical policies and standards
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, including Cerner EMR and MHS GENESIS
- Maintain current credentials and collaborate with healthcare teams
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Doctorate or Master's Degree in a medical field from an accredited program
- Current, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state
- Board certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Minimum of three years of experience in medical record review or military medical assessments
- Familiarity with USCG and DoD medical policies and HIPAA compliance standards
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional specialty certifications in emergency medicine or behavioral health
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB)
- Psychiatric - Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification
