What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct laboratory and scientific experiments, collecting and analyzing data to support research projects
- Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare scientific solutions, and manage inventory of supplies
- Assist in data interpretation and reporting on the status of research activities
- Train incoming lab personnel in complex experimental procedures and oversee research staff
- Recruit study participants and perform additional functions related to research activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of six years of related work experience, four of which must be in the same job family at the next lower level, or an Associate's degree with related experience
- Proven ability to work in a laboratory setting with experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and DNA/RNA extraction
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with laboratory software or databases
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as biology or molecular biology, with at least one year of laboratory experience
- Experience with animal handling and behavioral assays, particularly with rodents
- Familiarity with advanced molecular biology techniques such as CRISPR and next-generation sequencing
- Background in neuroscience, cancer biology, or immunology, with experience in flow cytometry and microscopy
- Knowledge of bioinformatics or programming languages for data analysis
