What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collect and assess data from various sources, including vital records and Medicaid
- Conduct independent statistical and spatial analyses to support research objectives
- Draft grant proposals and contribute to the development of new research initiatives
- Communicate research findings through presentations, publications, and technical reports
- Direct research projects under the supervision of faculty members
What is Required (Qualifications):
- PhD in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, health policy, or a related discipline
- Strong background in research methods with experience in population-level data
- Advanced skills in statistical analysis, including difference-in-difference analysis
- Excellent writing skills with a track record of peer-reviewed publications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Subject matter knowledge in maternal and infant health and/or cash transfer programs
- Advanced knowledge in statistical methods such as multilevel modeling or structural equation modeling
- Current independent funding through an extramural training award related to maternal/child health or health disparities
- Familiarity with community-partnered research approaches
