What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead the development, calibration, validation, and application of crop simulation models for various row crops
- Integrate remote sensing data and technology into modeling workflows for crop assessment and yield forecasting
- Build data fusion pipelines to deliver prescriptive best management practices for nutrient and water management
- Develop user-friendly decision-support tools that translate complex analyses into actionable insights
- Disseminate research findings through presentations and prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, Data Science, Remote Sensing, or a closely related field
- For Research Associate II: 2 years of experience in relevant research practices
- For Research Associate III: 4 years of experience in relevant research practices
- For Research Fellow II: 2 years of experience in relevant research practices
- For Research Fellow III: 4 years of experience in relevant research practices
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with crop models such as DSSAT and APSIM
- Expertise in UAV operations and remote sensing technology
- Familiarity with GIS platforms and cloud geospatial platforms
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
