What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manipulate and analyze large datasets related to education, including assessment and instructional data
- Collaborate with assessment development, psychometrics, user experience, and research teams
- Attend team meetings and advisory committee meetings to gain insight into research operations
- Focus on a major research project with potential for national conference submission
- Investigate the efficacy of educational products and evaluate differences in student performance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently pursuing a doctorate in education research, public policy, or a quantitative social science discipline
- At least three years of doctoral-level coursework completed by the start of the internship
- Strong interest in research that impacts student learning
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis in R is preferred
- Knowledge of hierarchical modeling, clustering techniques, or other complex statistical methods is preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with efficacy and evaluation techniques
- Previous research experience related to education or public policy
- Familiarity with analyzing demographic differences in educational performance
- Strong communication skills for presenting research findings
- Passion for improving educational outcomes for diverse student populations
