- Identify and communicate internal and external grant opportunities to secure funding in support of RMP research programs and strategic research priorities;
- In collaboration with the UHN StRIDe Team, support RMP investigators to develop and write competitive internal and external research grants and support the grant submission process;
- Support PIs through project management across a variety of tasks (writing/submitting/tracking reports, creating and managing project budgets, facilitating communication amongst investigators and others, maintaining records related to research activities, etc.);
- Develop and refine internal processes and templates to support PIs with their research and grant application and management;
- Support knowledge translation activities, including creative and innovative ways to increase research reach;
- Oversee data related to grant applications, including optimization of the RMP research dashboard;
- Work with the RMP Research Committee to build awareness of RMP research activities both internally and externally;
- Collaborate with team members within and beyond RMP and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- At minimum, a MSc in a science or health science related discipline or recognized equivalent
- Experience in academic research required
- Demonstrated project management skills required
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Experience with CIHR, NIH, and other large grants strongly preferred
- Experience in developing grant proposals and budgets desirable
- Exercise initiative and good judgement with ability to multi-task and working independently
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Client-service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
- Familiarity with knowledge translation principles and practices, including innovative ways to convey new information

Position Summary
The Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and highly organized Research Strategy Development Specialist I to oversee grant administration from identifying funding opportunities, through application support, and project management of approved grants. The incumbent will work with the RMP Director of Research, under the Manager, Program Development and Strategic Partnerships, to develop and utilize new internal processes to achieve excellence in management and support of RMP grants.
The successful candidate will bring their high attention to detail and organizational skills to a broad range of project management, coordination, and administrative functions related to the research portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to build their experience in building processes to improve overall program efficiency and effectiveness.
