What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Execute wet lab and behavioral experiments, including fluorescent immunohistochemistry and Western blots
- Collect and analyze data in support of independent projects and graduate student research
- Maintain rodent housing facilities and manage laboratory supplies and inventories
- Assist in advanced neuroscience techniques such as rodent surgeries and circuit tracing
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator on research projects and experiments
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience or a related field
- 1-3 years of previous research experience in a neuroscience or related field lab
- Ability to work full-time at the University Park campus in State College, PA
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and apply various neuroscience techniques
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience with advanced neuroscience techniques such as optogenetics or CRISPR/Cas9
- Familiarity with data analysis software or statistical methods
- Involvement in collaborative research projects or publications
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
