      We're on the lookout for a Return-to-Work Specialist to join our growing team! As a Return-to-Work Specialist, you will coordinate return-to-work status for Workers' Compensation cases within a defined geographical area. You will be responsible for the assessment of the positions and job duties at assigned work locations for potential modified duty assignments. Work with and coordinate information for all interested parties including physicians, nurses, adjusters, employers, state agencies, attorneys, and others. You will coordinate returning injured workers to work by direct contact with the employer of injury, job search efforts, labor market surveys and job analyses.

      This role is a full-time position, and work is conducted in the field and remotely from a professional home-based office environment; you will have an assigned territory within the East Central Georgia region and travel is required (within a two-hour radius from territory area).

      Key Responsibilities
      • Responsible for the direction and management of return-to-work efforts for injured employees
      • Work is conducted outside the office; travel is required by driving own vehicle to appointments
      • Maintain and submit timely and accurate productivity documentation
      • Liaise with employers to understand work environments, find opportunities for light duty placement availability, encourage RTW advantages
      • Document the claim file via written formal reports, system entry, email and facsimile
      • Document outcomes of vocational services and placement opportunities
      • Use applicable third-party guidelines and medical restrictions to assess potential placement
      • Evaluate, implement and monitor the effectiveness of transitional work plans including time projections
      • Use professional expertise in identifying tasks to be compiled to create transitional duties
      • Coordinate site visits with assigned agencies to train, motivate and create transitional work opportunities
      • Handle personal visits with the injured employee to determine status and needs, including return-to-work options and goals
      • Maintain regular contact with clients following placement, as per program guidelines; contacts involved individuals regarding progress on each case and makes suggestions as needed for changing rehabilitation plans
      • Use professional knowledge of medical management and its components related to Workers' Compensation
      • Work independently, with minimal supervision or direction, following Davies North America policies and procedures
      • Maintain patient privacy by ensuring that all medical records, case-specific information and provider-specific information are kept in a confidential manner, in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations
      • Adhere to medical and legal regulations and accreditation standards for written communication
      • Act as a resource to all departments within Davies
      • To perform the driving/travel duties of the job in a productive and efficient manner, you must maintain an active Driver's License, current auto insurance, and a good Motor Vehicle Report
      • Perform other duties as needed


      Skills, knowledge & expertise
      • Vocational Consultant with at least 2 years' experience in industrial or occupational case management, and/or vocational services
      • A Physical or Occupational Therapist is preferred
      • Previous experience as a Return-to-Work Specialist highly preferred
      • Preferred to have of the following credentials: CDMS, CCM, CRC
      • Advanced knowledge in Workers' Compensation claims including managed care organization preferred
      • Proof of current State Certification and Licensure where applicable
      • Field case management experience desired - Workers' Comp preferred
      • Good working knowledge of return-to work or job accommodation procedures
      • Ability to maintain knowledge of current trends, standards and law changes
      • Must be self-directed, able to work independently and travel as required
      • Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and related claims and business software
      • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, team player, good attendance, and great customer service skills
      • Extended hours may be necessary to accomplish goals of the job
      • Proficient with the use of computers and software, including Microsoft Office products
      • Analytical and interpretive skills
