      Job Overview

      The Revenue Cycle Manager is the primary resource to facilitate daily revenue cycle specific needs and communications between the hospital, headquarters, and external partners. The position reports to the Regional Finance Manager and indirectly reports to the Corporate Director of Patient Financial Services at the headquarters.

      The Revenue Cycle Manager facilitates oversight and resolution of pre-bill edits and denials, and interacts with department directors and physicians to obtain the necessary documentation to support clinical services provided. This position is responsible for management of the daily operations of the Patient Access department to ensure the timely and accurate process of patient flow through the cycle, including intake, registration, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization and financial counseling. Performs patient access quality monitoring, analyses key performance indicators, investigates denial trends and reports findings and recommendations for improvement opportunities.

      Responsibilities

      Quality of Patient Access /Registration Documents

      • Ensure QA on registrations for all areas of Patient Access.
      • Maintain, create and analyze QA statistics and reports.
      • Review the quality of patient registration documents.
      • Promptly report any system changes or enhancement opportunities to IS and/ or Corporate Director of Patient Financial Services as appropriate.
      • Track, trend and resolve facility denials.

      Professional Development/ Business Development

      • Complete bi-weekly and monthly reports for Corporate Director of Patient Financial Services and Revenue Cycle Committee as required.
      • Contribute to meeting and exceeding A/R goals for Patient Registration.
      • Maintain and develop a high degree of expertise in revenue cycle operations, technical processes and reports.
      • Analyze and communicate financial and operational data for decision-making and strategic planning.
      • Develop and recommended effective business improvement initiatives.

      Employee management

      • Manage various employee functions including but not limited to: hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, vacation schedules and payroll approvals.
      • Maintain Patient Access policies and procedures.
      • Monitor to ensure all Patient Access policies are followed.

      Qualifications

      Education

      • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required or equivalent experience preferred.

      Experience

      • 4+ year of supervisory/managerial experience in acute care hospital in patient access, revenue cycle and/or patient financial services is required.

      Preferred Skills

      • Excellent leadership, customer service and communication skills.
      • Experience in a hospital or multi-disciplinary clinical setting.
      • Working knowledge of Epic or Cerner EMR.
      • Microsoft office proficiency.
