What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure accurate CPT and ICD-10 documentation for patient billing processes
- Perform charge entry, approvals, and quality charge reviews, including checking clinical documentation
- Educate clinical staff on the importance of accurate and complete documentation
- Conduct regular reviews of charge capture processes to identify missing charges
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on system changes and charge reconciliation processes

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant coding and charge control work experience in a hospital or physician practice environment
- Bachelor's or associate degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Nursing, or a related field
- Licensure/Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC/COC, or other coding credentials required
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, clinical coding, and billing processes
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Epic and knowledge of Hospital/Physician group practice revenue cycle functions
- CHC (Healthcare Compliance Certification) and CHRI certification/membership preferred
- Knowledge of Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) and Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) reimbursement structures
- Familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation improvement processes
